Frances Lucille Kohn

francesKohnFrances Lucille Lowe was born on April 14, 19 30 , in Quinlan Texas , one of seven children born to Jerry Mars and Pamie Verdie Lowe. She was raised in Greenville Texas and was a graduate of Greenville High School . On October 1, 1950 , she married the love of her life, J.M. “Andy Kohn.

Fran and Andy moved to Brownwood in 1971 from Abilene . They owned and operated the Andy Kohn Firestone Store together for 10 years. Fran had worked in the JC Penny Business office and later retired as the Assistant County Auditor for Brown County , after over 20 years of service. She loved to paint, work with ceramics and cook, but her greatest joy, was her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.M. “Andy” Kohn; three daughters, Katrina Kohn of Dallas, Marcie Kohn Drew of Early and Nina Kohn Cox of Bangs; two sisters, Viola Bagwell and Modena Dunn, both of Greenville Texas and her “adopted daughter”, Kay Maxwell of Rockwall Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Hunter Cox of Bangs, Malloy Drew of Early, Boone Cox of Bangs and Conner Drew of Early and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pamie Verdie Gambrell Lowe and Jerry Mars Lowe; an infant son; one sister, Emma Inez Maxwell; and three brothers, Georgie Herbert Lowe, Dillard Ralph Lowe and M.J. Lowe.
