HPU Commissions Regional Recruiter to Metroplex

Jamie CostonThe Office of Enrollment Services at Howard Payne University embarked on a new venture this spring by sending Admission Counselor Jamie Coston to the Dallas/Fort Worth area as a permanent regional recruiter.

The transition became effective Monday, February 8, when Coston began working from his home office in Fort Worth.

Coston’s new role will include many of the same day-to-day activities, but in closer proximity to his prospects. Several universities use the regional recruiting approach as a way to maintain face-to-face contact and cultivate personal relationships with prospective students and families.

Kevin Kirk, assistant vice president for enrollment management at HPU, feels this is an exciting opportunity for the admissions office.

“Jamie is well versed in what we do and knows all about Howard Payne, having been a student and then staff member at the institution,” said Kirk. “We are excited to be able to serve the people of the Metroplex better through Jamie’s relocation. Living in the area will allow him to represent Howard Payne on a more consistent, frequent basis to all of our constituent groups.”

While spending the majority of his time in Fort Worth, Coston will still maintain constant communication with the Office of Enrollment Services at Howard Payne and will return to campus for prospective student events and other important functions.

Coston, a native of Alice, Texas, has worked in the enrollment office for the past two years. He earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Cross Cultural Studies from HPU in May 2008.

Prospective students and families interested in meeting with Coston or receiving more information about HPU can call 325-649-8020, 800-880-4HPU or e-mail [email protected].
