KERRVILLE, Texas-The Howard Payne men’s basketball team picked up their third straight win 76-57 over Schreiner University Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action. 

The Yellow Jackets open the game with a 10-2 lead. HPU slowly built their led to a 38-22 halftime advantage. HPU held Schreiner to just 27% shooting in the first. 

Howard Payne extended their led to as much as 20 points with around 7 minutes remaining. The Jackets continued to play solid defense and posted the 76-57 win. 

Keith Perry led HPU with 19 points followed by Henry Valladares with 13. John Bryant added 11. Michael Thompson played solid off the bench with 4 points and a team high 7 rebounds. 
Trevor Conner led Schreiner with a game high 30 points. 

HPU improves to 5-15 overall and 5-11 in ASC action, while Schreiner falls to 3-17, 3-13 in ASC play. 

The Jackets will play next on Saturday in Seguin against Texas Lutheran University at 3:00 pm.
