YellowJacketMondaylogoHoward Payne University hosted the largest Yellow Jacket Monday to date on Monday, January 18. The preview event brought a total of 147 people to campus, including 64 prospective students and their families. Additionally, approximately 100 faculty members, staff and students worked together to implement the successful event.

“We truly had such a great day as the HPU family shared a glimpse of life at our great university with such a stellar group of prospective students and families,” said Kevin Kirk, assistant vice president for enrollment management.

Yellow Jacket Mondays are designed to provide high school seniors the opportunity to get to know HPU by experiencing campus life.

Student participants attended college classes, took tours of campus, ate lunch in the University’s Beadel Dining Area, visited with faculty about academic interests and met with an admission counselor to discuss admission and scholarships.

The next Yellow Jacket Monday is planned for February 15 and an additional date has been recently added on March 15 due to high demand. Students interested in attending the event may register in advance by going online to www.hputx.edu.  Registration also may be made by calling Alexa Maddox in the Office of Admission at 325-649-8028, toll-free at 800-880-4478 or by email at amaddox@hputx.edu.
