The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions hosted Wylie on Friday night in Warren Gym in district 2-3A action.
The Lions defeated the Wylie Bulldogs 44-42 on Friday night taking improving their record 6-11 overall and 1-0 in district. Lions Derek Longoria landed a 16-foot jump shot to secure the win in the closing seconds of the game.
Brownwood scorers included Brown 13 points, Longoria 10 points, Barnes 8 points, Cotton 6 points, Ballejo 5 points, and Jefferson 2 points.
The Lady Lions led the Wylie Lady Bulldogs for the majority of the game, but Wylie rallied in the 4th quarter to beat Brownwood 49-45. This takes the Lady Lion’s record to 14-8 overall and 2-1 in district play.
Brownwood scorers included Wilson 14, Byrd 12, Maxwell 6, Anson 4, Darden 3, Mask 3, and K. Gober 3.
