Brownwood police officers responded to a one vehicle crash in the 2300 block of Magnolia around 6:30pm Wednesday evening. Brownwood Police reports state that officers observed a 2007 Ford Mustang on its side which had crashed into the fence of two residences in the Tanglewood Garden area knocking down a telephone pole and an underground telephone box.
Witness reports indicate that the driver identified at Kelly Deon Athans, 39, of Brownwood, had been at a nearby apartment complex and was very upset about a family matter. One witness states that Athans sped out of the parking lot of the complex and crashed into the fence. The homeowners where the fence was hit called 911.
Athans was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center where, according to police reports, she told a caseworker that she had crashed her vehicle into the fence intentionally.
The hospital cleared Athans medically and she was then arrested by police and charged with reckless driving and criminal mischief with damage over $1500 but less than $20,000. Police reports state that charges were filed believing that she crashed intentionally with reckless disregard for safety and causing damage estimated to be $9,000.

-Dominique Ray Estorga, 20 of Brownwood was arrested on Wednesday by Brownwood Police and charged with assault with injury family violence.
-Timothy Yonkin, 36, of Carrollton Texas, was arrested by Texas DPS for DWI early Thursday morning.
-Nathaniel Lamont Webb, 31, of Brownwood was arrested by Brownwood Police Thursday morning and charged with assault CBI family violence.
-Kathleen Yarbrough, 52, of Brownwood was arrested by Brownwood Police on Tuesday and charged with harboring a runaway child.
-Michael Wayne Hays, 21, of Brownwood was arrested Wednesday by Brownwood Police and charged with driving while license invalid.
-Willie Walter Calvin Jr, 34, of Bangs was arrested by Brownwood Police on Tuesday and charged with driving while license invalid.
