Brownwood police confiscated a live marijuana plant on Friday growing in a cut-off milk carton at a house in the 1500 block of Lane.

Brownwood police were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at the residence when officers observed the plant sitting in window ledge by the front door.    Although the person police were looking for had moved, they questioned the man and woman at the residence regarding the marijuana plant.

The police report states that the woman did not know what the plant was, but that they obtained it from another house in the neighborhood.  The report also indicates that the man claimed ownership of the plant.

Police took the plant as evidence and were going to file a report with the county attorney to seek a warrant for the man’s arrest  The report indicates that nothing else suspicious was found at the residence.

Weekend Arrests by the Brownwood Police are as follows according to Brown County Jail Records.

-David  R. Bowen, 33, of Brownwood was arrested Sunday for driving while license invalid

-Shianne Renee Bullard, 20, of Brownwood was arrested Sunday for public intoxication

-James Christopher Simmons, 19,  of Brownwood was arrested Monday morning for assault family violence.
