Picture1(Key Club)The Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club of Early has once again begun its annual tradition of collecting and distributing food baskets during this Christmas season, to Brown County residents.  Kiwanis Club President Bill Pursch stated that the Early Kiwanis Family, which consists of the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club, the Early High School Key Club, and the Early Middle School Builders Club, has taken this project each year as a group effort, to hopefully add some cheer to a few folks.

The Key Club and the Builders Club members coordinate a canned food drive within their schools.  This year, a total collection of approximately 4,000 canned food items were collected.  The Kiwanis Club sorts the canned foods and then assembles the baskets.  The Kiwanis Club purchases Hams for each basket and then makes the distributions.  Pursch stated that the club will distribute 50 food baskets this year.

Pursch stated that this project brings a lot of cheer to the Kiwanis Club and its youth sponsored groups, as it is just another way that the Kiwanis Family can return to the community by helping our friends and neighbors when that need is there.
