softball_allenThe Howard Payne softball program today announced three more players to the 2010 recruiting class.

Janna Allen, Gabriela Carrillo, and Hillary Heisroth have met all HPU admissions requirements and decided to continue their playing careers at Howard Payne University this next fall.

Janna Allen of Early, Texas will be a four-year starter for Early high school at the end of the year. Her freshman year she was named District Newcomer of the Year, sophomore year was District MVP, and as a junior was the District Pitcher of the Year and named All-State.

Last season Janna posted a 32-5 record and struck out 213 batters. So far in high school career, she has a .90 career ERA and a 70-16 record.

She has been involved in leadership in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students Against Destructive Decisions leader (SADD), and the Early HS Student Council. She plans to major in Psychology at Howard Payne.

Gabriela Carrillo, of Lytle, Texas, will be a four-year lettermen this season for her high school team. Already a two-time All-District selection at 1st and 3rd base, she has also been named to several all-tournament teams and to the Academic All-District team.

Gabriela has been a HM All-District selection in basketball helping them to the Regional Quarterfinals last season.

She has also excelled in the classroom and should graduate from Lytle high school this year as Valedictorian. She plans on majoring in Pre-law at Howard Payne.

She is president of the Lytle high school National Honor Society and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plays club softball for the ASA Texas Legends.

Hillary Heisroth will be a 2010 graduate of Midlothian High School. Last season she helped lead them to a #1 state ranking. The team ended up as Co-District Champions and lost in area round of playoffs.

Hillary was an All-District selection in the outfielder and earned the Midlothian High School Heart and Hustle Awards voted on by coaches and player for her hard work ethic both during the season and in the off-season.
