KTAB news in Abilene released a list of its top 5 football “Plays of the Year” on Thursday night’s broadcast featuring one of Brownwood’s most exciting moments of the 2009 football season.

The extra point block by Derek Longoria in the Brownwood Lions’ game against the Graham Steers on October 23rd made number 4 on KTAB’s list.   Longoria’s block with just seconds left in the game gave Brownwood the win 28-27 in the game thriller.

1)”The Stand” propels AHS past Cedar Hill. Abilene High stops Cedar Hill inside the 5 yard line in 3rd round of the playoffs.

2)Wylie scores a touchdown with :08 left in the game against Lovejoy to advance to the State Championship Game.

3)Munday scores on the final play of their Bi-District championship game to beat Bronte.

4)Brownwood blocks Graham’s extra point to beat the Steers, 28 to 27.

5)Herschel Sims starts the AHS season by returning the opening kickoff of 2009 for a touchdown.
