2009 Winter Pole Vault Camp

polevaultcampCoach Don Hood is organizing an overnight pole vault camp next week in Brownwood.  Below if detailed information about the camp from his website 3dHood.com.

Overnight Camp – December 21-22
Register Monday from 10:30 am – noon at the Gate 1 Inn.  4410 Hwy 377 South in Brownwood, TX.  325-643-5463.

NEW LOCATION

The camp will conclude around 6 pm Tuesday.  Parents will pick up their vaulters at the Brownwood High School Fieldhouse Turf Room.  2100 Slayden, Brownwood, TX.


General Information
This camp will be very demanding, so stay in shape prior to camp by running, lifting and keeping your hands toughened. 

Activities include: Gymnastic drills for vaulters, training pole drills.  Lots of work on your running form, pole carry and entire approach, plus perfecting
your plant and take-off.  Video study and analysis is a crucial part of the camp.                

What To Bring To Camp
1)      Your poles.  We will provide poles for those unable to bring their own.
2)      Sweats, running shoes & track spikes
3)      Gloves to protect hands during gymnastic drills
4)      Your own tape, braces, etc..
5)      Helmet – I will have helmets for sale at registration for $30
*** Helmets are not optional ***

COST
Two day Camp
Vaulters – $200 (includes lodging and meals)
Vaulters who commute – $150
Coaches/Parents – $100 (includes lodging and meals)
Coaches/Parents who commute – $50
Commuters must provide your own meals and accommodations

Who Can Come To Camp?
All vaulters from the 7th grade and higher.  All campers will be grouped according to ability.

Parents and coaches are welcome to attend and observe.  You will be able to assist your vaulters as a result of attending the camp.

Don’t forget!!

You and your parents must sign the release form to be included with the email following your online registration.  Bring the signed release sheet with you to the camp registration.
