Howard Payne men’s soccer players Dennis and Jaime Benitez today were named to the 2009 National
Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men’s NCAA Division III All-West Region team. Jaime and Dennis are the first HPU soccer players ever to be named to All-Region teams.
Second Team West Region
Forward Jaime Benitez So. Carrollton, Texas
Jaime led the Yellow Jackets with nine goals on the year, good for fourth overall in the American Southwest Conference. He also placed in the top four in almost every offensive category in the ASC.
Third Team West Region
Midfielder Dennis Benitez Sr. Carrollton, Texas
Dennis logged the most minutes of any Yellow Jacket this season and his leadership was the driving force in HPU posting their first winning season in their four year history.
