DA_awardThe 35th Judicial District Attorney’s office received the Collateral Agency Partner Award, San Angelo Division, on Thursday.  Presenting the award was Don Kretschmer of the U. S. District Court Northern District of Texas.  Pictured from left to right are:  Lashawne Griffin, Natalie Calleros, Vance Hill (Criminal Investigator), Micheal Murray (District Attorney), Don Kretschmer, Ryan Locker (Assistant D.A.), and Sam Moss (1st Assistant D.A.).

During the past decade, the 35th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, encompassing Brown and Mills counties, located in Brownwood, Texas, has been a mainstay of support and information for U.S. Probation.  Attorneys and the investigator have staffed both pending and post conviction state cases with U.S. Probation promoting a relationship of trust and integrity.  This has allowed for the sharing of valuable information in order to promote public safety, provide for the rehabilitation of individuals on federal pretrial and post conviction supervision, and at times to insure the protection of  U.S. Probation Officers.

This district attorney’s office has provided staff and a location for local and state law enforcement officials to meet with U.S. Probation in order to collaborate on knowledge and resources available.  Successful enhanced supervision by U.S. Probation has been a direct result of these efforts.  This has been particularly valuable when addressing gang information and behaviors.  Additionally, staff members have worked tirelessly with U.S. Probation to obtain police reports and documents to support and sustain Presentence Reports on federal offenders.

These endeavors by the 35th Judicial District Attorney’s Office allow for enhanced protection of the community and successful supervision of federal pretrial and post conviction offenders.  As such, these actions serve as a model to other criminal justice agencies.
