Brownwood City Council Meeting Set for Tuesday Nov. 24th – Full Agenda

CityofBrownwoodlogo_smallThe Brownwood City Council is set to meet Tuesday, November 24th at 9am at City Hall.  Below is the full agenda scheduled for that meeting.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

1. Call to Order

2. Pledge of Allegiance

3. Invocation

4. Items to be withdrawn

5. Introductions, Announcements, and Recognitions

6. Citizen Presentations

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully request that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

A. Council may hear a presentation from Adel Hunter, JARC Coordinator, of City and Rural Rides (CARR).

10. Ordinances and Resolutions

A. Council may consider amending an Ordinance on 1st reading regarding the closing hours of Riverside Park and authorizing the City Manager to determine if the hours for special events are to be extended.

B. Council may consider an Ordinance on 1st reading establishing traffic control signs at various locations throughout the city.

C. Council may consider a Resolution to ratify the action of the Civil Service Commission to establish guidelines for eligibility for the Fire Department Promotional Examinations.

D. Council may consider a Resolution to ratify the action of the Civil Service Commission to establish guidelines for eligibility for the Police Department Promotional Examinations.

11. Bids

A. Council may consider accepting the bid for three police cars.

12. Reports

A. CVB Report and Marketing Plan from the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

B. Budgetary Control Report.

C. Construction update of the Sr. Citizen Recreation Center and Family Aquatics Center.

D. Christmas Parade, Friday, December 4, 2009.

E. Closed for Thanksgiving, November 26 & 27, 2009.
