The first of eight new static displays have been cut out for the Star-lit Trail of Lights at the Depot and Museum Complex.  All of the new displays are Texas icons with a Christmas flair.  The first display to be fabricated is a roadrunner with a scarf trailing in the wind.  It was fabricated by Mike Bertrand, plasma operator from Loadcraft Industries in Brownwood.  The design is in three sections, allowing for ease in transport and set-up.

Each design will go through several stages before it reaches its final destination. From the plasma table where it is cut out, the display will travel to TSTC to be painted black, thus hiding the support grid.  Next, it will go to Blevins Body Shop for the design silhouette to be painted white with reflective beads.  Then, back to TSTC for hinging, wiring, and light bulb installation.  Its last trip will be to the Railroad Museum Complex, where it will be set-up for the Christmas Under the Stars Festival and the entire holiday season.

Volunteers, Don Benedict, J.R. Hope and Craig Seger will be assisting in transporting the metal decorations.  All of the groups involved in the Christmas lighting project are donating their time and materials for the community display.
