Glenn Earl “G.E.” Whiteside

Graveside services for Glenn Earl “G.E.” Whiteside, 80, of Bangs, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Mukewater Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00P.M. Friday at the funeral home.  Mr. Whiteside passed away me Thursday, November 05, 2009 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Whiteside was born August 28, 1929 in Erath County to B.E. and Velma Higginbotham Whiteside.  He was raised in the Alexandra and Hico area and attended school in Stephenville.  On May 26, 1956 he married Gail Brown.  Together they raised two boys, Rodgie and and Kreg.  G. E. worked several jobs in his younger days, one of which was with “Lightning C.” of  Dublin, Texas.  He had also worked for Phillips Petroleum and retired after working there more than 30 years.  He and Gail settled in Bangs, Texas and enjoyed his horses and raising cattle.  He loved going to the coffee shop and meet with his friends every morning.

Survivors include:

Wife:  Gail Whiteside  of Bangs, Texas

Sons:

Rodgie Whiteside of Odessa, Texas

Kreg Whiteside and wife Kristin of Lake Travis, Texas

Grandchildren:

Samuel, Alyssa and Erika

Sisters:

Mary Barker and husband Morris of Waco, Texas

Pat and husband Bob of Pipe Creek, Texas

Brothers-in-law:

Dennis Brown and Wife Marylin

Travis Price.

Numerous Nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Mukewater Cemetery Assc., 2250 FM 586,  Bangs, Texas 76823
