A three vehicle accident occurred shortly before 8am on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Main Street.  The Brownwood Fire Department was first on the scene with the Brownwood Police Department close behind.

Traffic in some lanes had to be diverted to side streets as officers worked to clear the vehicles from the road.  Two people were injured and taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Since the vehicles were not drivable after the incident, tow trucks were called to clear the road and help restore the normal flow of traffic.

The area was clear and traffic back to normal at around 9am Tuesday morning.
