plaqueMid-Tex Cellular settled into its new location in the old Starbucks/Taco Bell building at 300 W. Commerce in Brownwood last month and celebrated the move with a ribbon cutting and open house on Friday.

Mid-Tex Cellular had a huge crowd attend today’s open house as they gave out free hot dogs, drink, and treats to guests.

Members of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce were on hand for the ribbon cutting along with Radio Station KOXE holding a live remote broadcast.

Mid-Tex not only moved to a more convenient location for their customers, they are implementing many service upgrades as well.

These upgrades will allow for higher power capabilities of all cell sites & improve in-building coverage and fewer dropped calls. Mid-Tex’s home area was 6 counties, but the upgrades to 25 counties will go from Stephenville to Garden City, from Fredericksburg to Big Lake, from Ozona to Boerne and all points in between.

With these upgrades & increased data speeds, West Central Wireless & Mid-Tex Cellular will be able to offer BlackBerry phones to customers in the future.  They are also providing a prepaid plan called Right Wireless that requires no credit check, no deposit, and no contract.

Stop by their new location for more information.
