The Brownwood Lions Freshman football teams faced the Graham Steers on the road Thursday with a couple of close games.
The Freshman Maroon team led for most of the game but were edged out in the 4th quarter with a final score of 18-20.
Freshman scoring drives included Slate Miller (QB) to Cooper Howey (WR) with a 42 yard touchdown pass in the 1st Quarter. Slate Miller (QB) connected to Bryce Vickers (WR) for a 23 yard touchdown pass in the 2nd. Newt Harrell (RB) with the 8 yard touchdown run in 3rd Quarter.
Key defensive plays were when Michael Westerman (DE) forced a fumble and recovered it in 1st Quarter. Zane McCoy (DB) with a fumble recovery in the 2nd Quarter, and Cameron Deal (DB) catching a interception in the 2nd Quarter.

The Freshman Maroon Lions go to an overall record of 4-4 with 1-2 in district. Freshman play their next game next Thursday, October 29 vs. Sweetwater Freshman at Gordon Wood Stadium at 5:30 PM.
The Freshman White team was also edged out by Graham with a score of 16-20.
