Big Bass Tournament Winners Announced

The Family Services Center hosted its annual Big Bass Benefit fishing tournament this past Saturday at the Mountain View Lodge & Marina Lake Brownwood.  The tournament offered 3 Divisions:  open, bigbass1ladies, and juniors along with “Big Bass” prizes.

Winners & weights of the 2009 Texas Bank Big Bass Benefit Benefiting Family Services Center are:

Open

  1. Joey Wynn   13.63
  2. Jack Saling   11.44
  3. Isaiah Salazar   9.04
  4. Tony Sanchez   8.79
  5. Chuck Lawdermilk   8.60
  6. Butch Willingham   7.99
  7. Randall Christian   7.56
  8. Roy Smith   7.41
  9. Todd Mayes   7.3
  10. Tully Hair   6.72

Big Bass

  1. Joey Wynn   8.40
  2. Isaiah Salazar   6.32
  3. Paul Brown   5.75

Juniors

  • Shilloh Brown 1.72

bigbass2The top winner, Joey Wynn took home $3000 for first prize in the open division and another $1000 for the big bass.

Regarding catching the big bass, Wynn said, “…with a quick pull of the rod the monster had my bait and the tournament winner was on the end of my line. She fought hard for a few seconds but decided to give me my day in the lime light. With the net in hand and fish on the way up a quick stab of the net and the 8.40 lber was in the boat. I had a small Iaconelli moment but laid down for a second then I had to call and wake my wife “Honey, I think I just maybe won $4000.”
