The Texas Department of Public Safety is reporting that one person died in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday night around 11:35pm about 18.8 miles north of Brownwood on FM 2559.

Freddy Wayne Burnett, fifty-seven years of age from May, Texas was pronounced dead a the scene at 8:08am on Sunday morning (9/27/09) by Justice of the Peace Cavanaugh.

Burnett was driving a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, north bound on FM 2559 in Brown County.  The driver failed to negotiate a curve and over corrected causing the jeep to skid off the road, into a fence and overturn.

The crash was not reported or located until Sunday morning after daylight.

The roadways were dry and the weather clear/cloudy at the time of the crash.

The accident is being investigated by Trooper Delgado of Brownwood.
