Early Police Chief David Mercer submitted several police activity reports for the last several days.

Driver Smashed Another Driver’s Cell Phone

09/18/2009 Officer John Mills received a call from a motorist that stated he pulled up to the red light on Early Blvd in the construction area. The driver realized that he was in the on-coming lane so he turned around and pulled back up in the correct lane. The driver of another vehicle that was at the red light got out of his vehicle and walked back to the motorist who was talking on his cell phone at that time. The individual reached into the complainants vehicle and told him to give him his cell phone. The man then took his cell phone away from him and threw the cell phone into a parking lot causing it to break. The individual told the complaint if he had a problem with that to call the police. He then got into his vehicle and drove away. The complainant provided a license number and description of the vehicle and suspect. The investigation is continuing.

Vehicle Bump Leads To Arrest

On 09/20/2009 at 430am Officer John Mills received a call that a vehicle had bumped another vehicle trying to get it to go on through a red light in the construction area on Early Blvd. The vehicle then drove off a side street when the driver of the victim vehicle picked up a cell phone to call 911. Officer Mills located and stopped the vehicle in the 100 block of Early Blvd. The driver Lacey Nichole Cox was arrested for DWI after failing the field sobriety test. The passenger Cole Verby Tarlton was also arrested for Public Intoxication.

Marijuana Arrest

09/21/2009 Officer Johnny Brown stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Gorman Dr for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Micheal Jason Anderson of Conroe Tx.  Anderson appeared extremely nervous. When Officer Brown questioned him about why he was nervous and if he had something illegal in the car Anderson stated he had some marijuana. Anderson surrendered the marijuana to Officer Brown. Anderson was arrested and taken to Brown Co Jail.
