Dorothy E. McWilliams Callaway

Funeral services for Dorothy Evelyn Nunley McWilliams Callaway, age 91, of Brownwood, will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 21, 2009 at Lacy Lakeview Baptist Church in Waco with Michael May and Rick Justice officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors of Waco.  The family will receive friends at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood from 4:00 until 6:00 Sunday evening.

Mrs. Callaway died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Dorothy was born on December 28, 1917 to Alpine and Sarah Nunley.  She grew up in Benjamin, Texas and graduated from Benjamin High School in 1936.  She married W. Louis McWilliams in 1935 with whom she lived for 35 years.  She married Arnold Callaway on July 2, 1971, and they spent many years in Round Rock before moving to Brownwood in 1997.

Mrs. Callaway is survived by her husband Arnold Callaway of Brownwood; two sons and their wives, Ronald McWilliams and Linda, and Barry McWilliams and Debbie; two step-sons and their wives, Robert Callaway and Monica and John Callaway and Patsy; a sister, Wanda May, a granddaughter, Rhonda McWilliams Blanchard and her husband Steve; two grandsons, Aaron McWilliams and Kevin McWilliams; two step-granddaughters, Toni Lynn James and Diane Canady; step-grandson, Michael Callaway; two great-granddaughters, Lindsey Blanchard and Holly James.  Mrs. Callaway is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ethel Parker, three brothers, Floyd, J.T. and Tommy Nunley, and a grandson-in-law, Todd Blanchard.
