MichaelJacksonszipperAs previously reported, one Midway ride featured at this year’s Brownwood Reunion belonged to Michael Jackson and was used at his famous Neverland Ranch.

Reunion organizers announced today that this ride is called the Zipper and was purchased earlier this year by carnival vendor Pride of Texas Shows.

The ride flips and spins riders in two-passenger metal cages that move around the sides of an oblong boom that rotates similar to a Ferris wheel.

This ride is a old carnival favorite that was put into production back in the late 1960’s.  This particular Zipper ride was originally placed at Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in 1991.

The Zipper was sold along with other Neverland rides earlier this year before Jackson’s death.

The Zipper and other Midway rides will be running all weekend as part of the 2009 Brownwood Reunion Celebration.

Here is a photo of the Zipper in Brownwood during the Midway setup process on Wednesday evening.

For more information about the 2009 Brownwood Reunion Celebration, visit BrownwoodTx.com for event schedules & ticket information.

Also be sure to watch as KTAB-TV presents a 30-minute preview special highlighting this year’s Reunion event on Wednesday, September 16, at 6:30 p.m. immediately following KTAB News at 6.
