Benjamin James McIver

McIverBenjamin James McIver, 70, of Hempstead, Texas passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Tomball Regional Medical Center in Tomball, Texas following a chronic illness.

He was born March 30, 1939, in Coleman County, Texas to Bernice W. and Mae McIver. Ben graduated from Brookesmith High School, later attending Texas Tech University. He pursued a career in the petroleum industry, having had numerous assignments in various foreign countries.

Ben is survived by his wife, Jeanne of 49 years; his daughter, Suzanne and husband Eddie of Austin, Texas; son, Steven and wife Lori of Garland, Texas; and six grandchildren. He also leaves behind three sisters, Mary Lou Storm of Brownwood, Texas, Lois Sheehan of Burleson, Texas, and Patsy Grubbs of Grand Prairie, Texas.

He will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts of his family and all whose hearts he has touched. Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, with a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Interment to follow at Trickham Cemetery in Trickham, Texas. Condolences, memories, and tributes can be left for the family at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com
