northwesteleTeachers at Northwest Elementary in Brownwood are making a mad dash to move in & organize classrooms as the current phase of renovations are winding down.

All summer, Northwest Elementary’s west wing has been undergoing extensive remodeling.  Now as the start of school is only a week away, this current phase of renovations is complete as workers do finishing touches and clean up work.  Teachers were allowed to move into the newly renovated wing on Friday and are working hard to organize, straighten, and decorate their new classrooms for this new school year.

Those who remember the campus from the past will notice the fresh paint, new carpet and tile in each classroom & hallway.  Teachers we spoke with are excited about the schools new look and are working hard to sort out all of books, supplies, and files before Meet the Teacher day next Monday.

Meet the Teacher at Northwest is set for next Monday, Aug 24th from 3-5 pm.  See the meet the teacher schedule for other Brownwood campuses by clicking here.

The next phase of construction & renovations will take place next summer on Northwest Elementary to complete the entire project which is funded by part of the $29.4 million bond passed in 2005.

Enjoy some photos of the new look of the Northwest classrooms.
