Brownwood Rockies Make Narrow Victory

TTABJrboysartpic1The TTAB Kicked off several boys tournaments today involving several local TTAB Baseball teams.

Two tournaments are being held in Brownwood, the 2009 Junior Boys State Tournament ( with the Brownwood Rockies & Brownwood White Sox) & the 2009 Senior Midget Boys State Tournament (with Brownwood Lions & Brownwood Longhorns).  The 2009 Freshman Open Base Tournament is being held in Ennis and the Brownwood Express are playing there. The 2009 Sophomore Boys are playing in Killeen with the Early Purple participating.

The day kicked off with the Brownwood Rockies playing the Ennis Firefighters in the Junior Boys State Tournament.  Brownwood started with a big lead in the first inning, but Ennis caught up in the 7th inning with a three run homer making it a tie game.  Brownwood came back in the bottom of the 7th and scored, winning the game 18-17.  Brownwood Rockies move on in the winners bracket to play Alto this evening at 6pm.

Games scheduled for today in Brownwood are.:

Junior Boys:

  • Brownwood Rockies vs. Alto 6pm
  • Brownwood White Sox vs. winner of Ennis Southwest Funding & Athens 8:30pm

Senior Midget Boys:

  • Brownwood Lions vs. Brownwood Longhorns 2pm
  • Winner of above game to play either Rice or PG Mustangs at 8pm.

Games are held at the Camp Bowie Baseball Fields and the Brownwood High School Field.  Entry is $5 per day.
