Brownwood News – The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a storage facility fire just after 10:00 am Friday behind Sportsman Center at the intersection of Texas Highway 279 and FM 2125.

According to Brownwood Fire Marshal, Buddy Preston, six fire units responded.  The burning storage units were locked and had to be breached, Preston said.  The damage done was as follows:

• Two boats were totaled
• 6-8 storage units burned
• 2 storage units were virtually empty
• 2 storage units had household items and furniture that burned

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire was not known as of late Friday afternoon, Preston said.
