DESCRIPTION:The Annual Corks and Caps event is presented by Visit Brownwood and is set for Saturday\, October 7st from 6 PM to 11 PM in the Depot Plaza in Brownwood.\nCorks and Caps will feature tastings of beer and wine from across Texas. A variety of food trucks will also be on hand offering food and desserts for purchase. All wineries will have bottles of their signature wines for sale.\nThe first 300 tasters who arrive will get their choice of a Corks and Caps commemorative wine glass or beer glass.\nTickets in advance are $25\, and include 10 tasting tickets or $15 for entrance only and no tasting tickets.\nTickets purchased at the gate will be $35 including 10 tastings\, or $25 for entrance only and no tasting tickets.\nAttendees must be 21 or older to purchase tasting tickets.\nTickets are exempt from Texas sales and use tax. DESCRIPTION:Join the good folks over at Lake Brownwood State Park to safely view the Annular Solar Eclipse\, which we see in a partial view. They will have solar viewing glasses to borrow\, as well as telescopes to watch as the sun is eclipsed. Remember\, NEVER look directly at the sun or a solar eclipse without protective eyewear.\n\nThe solar eclipse will be at its peak at 11:52 am over the park.\n\nWhat to bring: solar glasses (if you have them)\, sense of curiosity\nWhere to meet: Day Use Area/Dining Hall\n\nA treasure of the Texas Hill Country\, Lake Brownwood State Park is a 537.5-acre stretch of lush grounds. At the center lies none other than Lake Brownwood. Many structures in use today were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the early 1930’s. Activities include picnicking\, camping\, hiking\, motor boating\, water skiing\, fishing\, nature study\, swimming\, and bird watching. Facilities include cabins\, lodges\, tent sites\, and RV spaces located. The Group Recreation Hall is a favorite for reunions and events\, with a rooftop balcony overlooking the Lake.

The cost is $25 per player\, all proceeds will remain in Brown County to assist those unable to afford a mammogram. Use the QR code or visit Hendrickhopefund.org/brown-county-bunco to register. \nHMCB is excited to share about a new outreach ministry designed to help and bless the people of Brown County.  For 20 years\, our Hendrick team has raised money through “The Hope Fund at Hendrick Health” to pay for mammograms for women who would otherwise be unable to afford one. One of the major events that has helped our fundraising efforts is called “Bunco for Breast Cancer” and involves teams of 12 people playing a fun (no skill required) game with friends.  This year is Abilene’s 19th year to host this event in Abilene\, and we have 130 teams of 12 people (1\,560 total) signed up to play and support this important cause. \nBut Abilene is not enough – we want to raise money to help the women of Brown County too!  To that end\, we are hosting our inaugural Bunco event – “Paint Brown County Pink” – on Monday\, October 23 from 6-9pm at the Aldersgate Enrichment Center in Early.  To kick off our first year\, we are looking for both financial sponsors and 10-25 teams of twelve players to participate!  If you are interested in finding out more information\, sponsoring or registering a team ($25 a person) – please visit our website or contact a member of our team directly. \nPink-out and Bunco awards : Dress in your most fun pink outfit to enjoy the evening. Prizes will be awarded for the best pink outfit\, the best dressed pink team and the best pink food. Prizes will be given for the most and least Buncos individually and team total. \nThe survival rate for breast cancer is incredibly strong when it is caught early\, and regular mammograms are essential to the battle to keep our families and neighbors safe and healthy. Your support of the Hope Fund means that every Brown County woman – regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay – would have the ability to receive a mammogram when recommended by her physician.
