SUMMARY:JLT Joey Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:The 19th Annual JLT Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday\, October 8th at The FeedLot in Richland Springs\, Texas.\n\nThe JLT Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser is an annual event held in memory of Joseph Lee Tharp and raises money to provide scholarships to graduating seniors at Richland Springs\, San Saba\, Cherokee and Zephyr High Schools. The scholarship funds also help finance continuing education for former scholarship recipients who are continuing their education. In 2022\, the family was able to award $22\,500 in scholarships to deserving seniors and previous recipients still in school.\n\nThe 19th annual event will feature live music\, a BBQ meal\, goat roping\, children’s pumpkin painting and a live auction. Gates will open at noon with live music beginning at 1PM. The meal will begin at 5PM followed by the live auction. To-Go plates are available for the meal. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the gate the day of the event. The meal is “by donation”.\n\nThis year\, we welcome 5 live bands including local acoustics acts plus Southern Rustics\, Whiskey Smile\, Arron Mcbee along with Country artists Will Carter\, Hayden Coffman and Chris Colston headlining the show.\nRV spots are available at The FeedLot and should be reserved in advance. Please call (325) 452-3040 to make your reservation.\n\nWill Carter is a recognizable staple in the country music world as an original singer and songwriter with 13 singles on the Texas charts (Texas Regional Radio\, CDX Traction TX\, Texas Country Music Chart) and two that have gone nationwide on the Music Row Chart. For the past four years\, he has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and taken home awards for Songwriter of the Year at the Texas Country Music Association Awards. The Will Carter Band has been nominated Band Of The Year for the 2022 Annual Texas Country Music Awards.

Categories include Best Couple\, Best Family\, Best Group\, Most Creative\, Best Children’s Costume\, and Cutest Baby. All costume contestants must be registered by 5:30 pm the day of the event. Winners will be announced and awarded CASH PRIZES at the Trick or Treat Trail on October 27th.
