The City of Brownwood posted the following information on social media Wednesday:
The community splash pads are now open for the season! Each splash pad is located at a park near an elementary school, making these locations highly visible and familiar to residents. They serve multiple neighborhoods and provide easy access to nearby schools. Splash pads operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and are expected to remain open through October.
Splash Pad Locations and Park Amenities:
🌳Allcorn Park (1501 Indian Creek Drive): Named after Bill Allcorn, a 9.34-acre park bordered by 4th Street & Indian Creek Drive adjacent to Woodland Heights and next to Brownwood Fire Station 2, features 2,500 sq. ft. splash pad with 17 above ground water features, tennis courts, playground, large pavilion, and restrooms.
🌳Mayes Park (2700 Austin Avenue): Named after Wendell W. Mayes, a 2-acre park located on Austin Avenue next to East Elementary School featuring 2,000 sq. ft. splash pad with 20 in ground water features, skate park, large green space for baseball/softball/soccer practice, Nanda Wilbourn Family Pavilion, flower mural, and restrooms.
🌳Trigg Park (307 Bluffview Drive): Named after Charlie W. Trigg, a 10-acre park on Bluffview Drive next to Northwest Elementary School featuring 2,000 sq. ft. splash pad with 20 in ground water features, practice fields, playground area, shaded area with picnic tables, and restroom.
