Lady Lions place second, Lions seventh at Brock Relays

The reigning 4×100 relay state champions Icess Hall, Jade Morin, Aniah Hines, Kaya Phillips ran a 47.7 to finish first Thursday for the Brownwood girls, who generated 153 points, one off winning pace, in the altered format meet {File photo}

BROCK – The reigning Class 4A track and field state champion Brownwood Lady Lions made their 2026 season debut Thursday at the Brock Relays and produced 153 points to finish second, one point behind the meet host and District 6-4A rival Lady Eagles.

The meet did not consist of the 17 sanctioned UIL events for track and field meets, as the 200 meters, 400 meters and 800 meters were not contested, while sprint medley relays, 4×800 relays and 4,000 meter relays were run instead.

The Brownwood Lions, meanwhile, finished with 39 points to come in seventh place in the varsity boys team standings.

The JV Lady Lions, with 168.5 points, finished in first place by 8.5 points over Brock, while the JV Lions came in seventh place as well with 21 points.

Below are the results for the four Brownwood teams, which next compete Saturday, Feb. 28 at the McMurry War Hawk Relays.

Lady Lions

1st Place

  • Kaya Phillips in the 100 meters (12.35)
  • Hannah Deen in high jump (5-4)
  • 4×100 relay – Icess Hall, Kaya Phillips, Jade Morin, Aniah Hines (47.71) almost 3 full seconds – school record is 47.0
  • 4×200 relay – Eboni Baker, Tyraji Tillman, Jaidyn Hope, Aniah Hines (1:48.46)
  • Hannah Deen in high jump (5-4)
  • 4×400 relay – Grace Sparks, Rebekkah Delgado, Jentry Coalson, Jade Morin (4:08.05)

2nd Place

  • Nylah Hall in triple jump (34-10)
  • Grace Sparks in the 100-meter hurdles (16.1)
  • Lyndi Biasiolli in the 1600 meters (6:00.29)
  • Sprint Medley Relay (4:26.21)

3rd Place

  • Kaydence Allen in the shot put (31-3)
  • Grace Sparks in the 300-meter hurdles (48.03)

4th Place

  • Jentry Coalson in the 100-meter hurdles (16.49)
  • 4,000 meter relay – Lyndi Biasiolli, Kiara Delce, Rebekkah Delgado and Haylee Adkins (14:05.4)

5th Place

  • Amarrea Thomas in the shot put (30-3)

6th Place

  • Kaydence Allen in the discus (83-10)
  • Haylee Adkins in the 1600 meters (6:09.4)
