It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Johnny Edward Egger, who departed this life on April 23, 2025, at the age of 89. Johnny was born on April 15, 1936, in Indian Creek, Texas, to the late John Calvin Egger and Cora Irene Egger.

Johnny received his education in the Brookesmith school system, where he completed his studies through the eighth grade. He married Flora Mae Thomas on December 13, 1984, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love and joy, raising a beautiful family that includes five children.
A devoted husband and father, Johnny cherished the time spent with his beloved wife, Flora, and delighted in the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his exceptional sense of humor and generous spirit, he touched the lives of many, embodying the qualities of a caring friend and community member. A dedicated Christian, Johnny was an active member of a Southern Baptist Church, where he found strength and fellowship.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Flora Mae Egger, of Brownwood, Texas; his two sons, James Terry Egger and Tibby Gene Egger (and wife Becky), both of Brownwood, TX; and his three daughters, Savanah Cheres Geer (and husband Richard Alan) of Groton, Connecticut, Karen Sue Wagner (and husband Brian) of Odessa, Texas, and Kathy Petty (and husband Mickey) of Farmersville, Texas. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his warmth and legacy forward.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin Egger and Cora Irene Goins Egger; his son, John Travis Egger; as well as three sisters and one brother.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at Eastlawn Memorial Park on May 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
May his memory be cherished and may he rest in eternal peace.
