The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of May 22:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 77 degrees; 4.28 feet below pool. Water is dirty on the main lake and muddy towards the rivers. Black bass to 6.41 pounds are slow on jigs, shaky heads and top waters in 2-10 feet of water. Crappie to 11 inches are fair under docks with black and chartreuse or white with a chartreuse head jigs in 9 feet of water, and on brush piles with minnows in 12 feet. White bass are fair on crankbaits and small swimbaits. Catfish are good to 5 pounds on cut or prepared bait at Thrifty Park.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 72 degrees; 11.69 feet below pool. The largemouth bass have really been doing good this week hitting top water. A few people are having luck on flathead catfish in the creeks with goldfish. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 70 degrees; 3.05 feet below pool. The lake has risen 6 feet in a week which can slow the bite until the water stabilizes. Before the rise in water bass reports were good.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 74 degrees; 29.67 feet below pool. Lake is up 2 feet. Largemouth bass are good with catches up to 9 pounds on topwaters shallow early in the mornings then good on 10 inch worms, Hags F6.5 and F8, Rage MagCutters in PlumApple, redbug and green pumpkin off ledges and deeper timber later in the day. White bass are still around midlake on walking baits, flukes and square bills in shad patterns. Crappie slow and scattered in big timber on minnows. Catfish are still good in 5 feet or less on stink and cheese baits with rod and reels. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 65 degrees; 6.34 feet below pool. People are having good luck right now with stripers and channel catfish. Crappie and shad have been a little scarce. Five boat ramps are open. The only ones that are not open are Copperas Day Use and Promontory Campground (SW).
