The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of March 8:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

SLOW. Water stained; 56-62 degrees; 8.48 feet below pool. Black bass to 9.27 pounds are excellent on crankbaits in 4-12 feet of water on flats around spawning areas. Alabama rigs around the rocky shoreline near the transition areas from winter to prespawn. Crappie are fair toward the mouth of the creeks in 2-7 feet of water staging for the spawn near the 279 Bridge. White bass are slow and scattered near the mouth of pockets. Catfish are slow on cut bait.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 50 degrees; 8.41 feet below pool. Crappie are great and starting to spawn. Best bite has been in the evening with minnows. Bass are hitting throughout the day on jerkbaits. Catfish are biting on cut perch. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Slightly stained; 56-60 degrees; 5.48 feet below pool. Bass to eight pounds are good on crankbaits and spinnerbaits near the river.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water stained; 60 degrees; 23.74 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are good pushing shallow for the spawn. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie fair with jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared baits, cut bait and live bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina.

LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 60 degrees; 9.19 feet below pool. With the water temperature and weather warming, look for fish to push into the shallows.
