The Brownwood Lions baseball team will hold its James Crow Alumni Game on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Morris Southall Field.

Batting practice will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a home run derby at 11 a.m. – with a $10 entry fee – and the alumni game at noon.

The gate fee will be by donation only. There will be a concession stand with food and drinks. Uniform jerseys from previous years will also be on sale. All proceeds from the gate, concession stand, HR derby and jersey sales will go to the James Crow Legacy Fund Scholarship.

There is no need for former players to sign up, just show up the day of the event.

Raffle items will include:

1. An autographed Shelby Miller baseball

2. A Taste of town package that includes gift cards to Fuzzy’s, Section Hand, Whataburger, Chick-fil-A, Subway, Chili’s, and Party On Wheels food trailer.

3. An adult sized Minky red and blue baseball blanket

4. A seasoning basket with some grilling tools from Weakley-Watson.

5. Shaw’s gift card and red neck 6 pack(RC cola and moon pies)

6. 4 Rangers vs Yankees tickets for Saturday, April 29 in the wild rag section. Each ticket also comes with a $25 meal/drink voucher

7. A garage door opener including free installation in the local area.

8. 2 hitting lessons from Coach Blake Sandford

People can call Melissa Crow at 325-647-0285 or Venmo to JCrowLegacy and stare which items they wish to be entered into. They can also visit the James Crow Alumni Baseball Game Facebook page.

BBQ sandwiches, chips, and a drink will also served for $10 at the game Saturday.

All proceeds from everything that day will go to the James Crow Legacy Scholarship Fund that awards BHS seniors scholarships each year.
