Joseph Alberto Salas

Joseph Alberto Salas, age 29, of Dallas, and formerly of Brady, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in San Angelo, Texas.  Joseph was born April 20, 1993 in Brownwood, Texas to Mario Salas, Jr. and Amy Jo Torres.  He grew up in Brady and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady.  He worked in construction.  Joseph was very artistic and inventive.  He enjoyed working with his hands, working on cars, fishing, being in the wilderness and cooking.  He had a big heart and was very compassionate.  He adored his kids and spending time with them.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Alberto Salas will be held at 10:00am Friday, August 19, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenon officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.  Friends may view Joseph’s Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign his online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.  Pallbearers will be Aaron Torrez, Victor Ramirez, Jr., Thomas Salas, Nicholas Longoria, Christian Barron and Angel Coronado.

Joseph is survived by his paternal grandfather Mario Alberto Salas, Sr. of Brady, TX; paternal grandmother Dolores Sierra of Blanket, TX; maternal grandparents Joe and Norma Torres of Brady, TX; father Mario Salas, Jr. of Brady, TX; his mother Amy Torres of San Angelo, TX; wife Malia Faitala of Dallas, TX; sons Dallas Jay Torres of San Angelo, TX and Jeremiah Alexander Salas of Rochelle, TX; daughters Lilly Anna Salas of Elk City, OK and Eliana Salas of Dallas, TX; brothers Aaron Torrez of San Angelo, TX and Victor Ramirez, Jr. of San Angelo, TX and sisters Sierra Olvera of Gatesville, TX, Alyssa Marie Salas of Round Rock, TX, Sierra Gevara of San Angelo, TX, Ashlee Nicole Salas of Benton, AR and Rosalinda Pena of Brady, TX; uncle Thomas Salas of Brady, TX and Aunts Cristela Broadhead and husband Darrell of Saratoga, Utah and Yadira Sierra of Blanket, TX .  He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Frances and Joe Perez.  Memorial contributions in memory of Joseph Alberto Salas may be made to the Joseph Alberto Salas Funeral Expense Fund at Brady National Bank in Brady or Commercial National Bank in Brady.
