Early police make recent arrests for cocaine, marijuana possession

The Early Police Department posted the following information on its Facebook page Monday afternoon:

In the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 6, shortly after midnight, a vehicle was stopped in 100 block of Early Blvd. for traffic violation. While officers talked to the driver an odor of alcohol was coming from the vehicle causing officers to check further during the stop. Officers located where an open container had spilled into the floorboard. The 2 occupants were removed from the car, The driver, Cesar A. Zamora Palomo, was provided a field sobriety test which he failed and was taken into custody for DWI with open container. Both occupants admitted to marijuana in the vehicle which officers found along with cocaine. The passenger, Jesus Luis Gaspar was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of controlled substance (Cocaine).

* On Friday, Aug. 6 officers received a call of an intoxicated person at 100 block of Park Drive holding a female down. Upon officers’ arrival officers detained the individual who appeared to be under influence of some type of drugs. The individual’s wife was interviewed, and she denied any physical assault. The intoxicated person, Jesus Antonio Delgado was interviewed and claimed he was hurt in his back. EMS was notified and responded where EMS personnel attempted to check Delgado inside the Ambulance. While inside the ambulance Delgado charged at the female EMS attendant causing her to flee out the back of the Ambulance with Delgado following where Officer’s immediately took him into custody. Delgado was taken to the Brown County Jail and charged with public intoxication. The Medic was not touched or injured during the attempt to grab her.

* On Sunday, Aug. 8 at approximately 2 p.m. officers stopped to check on a truck (18-wheeler) parked in the middle of the highway on Early Blvd. The officer gave dispatch the license plate numbers when he checked out and began to talk to the driver regarding his problem with the truck. Dispatch notified the officer the truck was stolen from a construction company in Howard County Texas. After further investigation officers arrested the driver, Jose Bass from Puerto Rico. The truck was impounded for the rightful owner to pick up and Bass was taken to the Brown County Jail.
