The family-friendly event will feature complimentary hot dogs and drinks provided by the Brownwood Municipal Police Association, photo opportunities with police officers and firefighters, displays of emergency vehicles, and special tours of the Police Department and Central Dispatch Center.

“We are excited to launch our 16th annual National Night Out celebration in Brownwood,” said Police Chief James Fuller. “The kickoff event is a wonderful opportunity for residents to learn more about the program and begin planning gatherings that bring neighbors together right where community matters most, in their own neighborhoods.”

Residents will have the opportunity to register their streets, subdivisions, and neighborhoods for October’s National Night Out activities. The annual campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, encouraging neighbors to spend an evening outdoors getting to know one another and connecting with local law enforcement.

“While the kickoff event is a great way to begin the celebration, the heart of National Night Out is the neighborhood block party,” Fuller added. “Year after year, our community has embraced this tradition, and we look forward to another memorable evening of neighbors coming together across Brown County.”

National Night Out is designed to increase crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs, and strengthen the bonds between residents and public safety personnel.
