ROC’s Juneteenth Community Celebration slated for June 19-21

Revitalizing Our Community (ROC) will hold its annual Juneteenth Community Celebration the weekend of June 19-21 throughout Brownwood.

The Soul Food Kickoff Luncheon returns from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Friday, June 19 at the Brownwood Event Center. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased through the Venmo QR Code at the bottom of this article. Place your first and last name/luncheon in the memo, and your ticket will be at the door on the list. 

The We Are One White Linen Party will again be held from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 19 at the Brownwood Event Center Complex. The free event will feature a live DJ, photo booths, yard games, vendors, and old school cars.

The Unity Color Run will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at a cost of $25 for ages 10 and up, and there is no charge for runners 9 and under. The deadline to register is June 6, and you can register online HERE.

Each registered racer will receive a T-shirt, goodie bag, a race number/bib, and you will also be able to see your race time at the finish line. All registered racers will receive a participation medal as you cross the finish line. All registration money goes toward ROC scholarships.

The Stack N Style Brunch is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at the Brownwood Event Center. Tickets are $10 at the door and there will be a live DJ, bottomless mimosas, and food.

The Fun in the Park event, at Cecil Holman Park, will take place Saturday, June 20 from 5 to 11 p.m. with carnival rides, water slides, bounce houses, vendors and more. 

The weekend concludes with a  Church Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 21 at Awaken Church at 585 West Commerce.
