The finishing touches to the 2025 Brownwood Lions football season were applied on the same day as the opponents for the 2026 campaign became known, as a weather-delayed Mothers Club banquet took place Monday night at the Brownwood Event Center.
Delayed a week due to winter weather, three $2,000 Deborah Ellis Memorial Scholarships (Judson Coalson, Brinson Martin, Durham Brown) were presented, along with the Chris Hart Memorial Scholarship (Carson Noe), Leslie Adams Memorial Scholarship (Daylyn Ansons) and Heather Edmonds Heart of a Lion Award (Kadyn Avalos).
The BHS athletic trainers presented the first Doc Wilson Legacy Award to Kaylee Johnson.
Meanwhile, Lions head coach Jeryl Brixey introduced the Outstanding Player on the Offensive Front (Rylan Martin), Outstanding Player on the Defensive Front (Brinson Martin), Outstanding Player in the Offensive Backfield (Judson Coalson), Outstanding Player in the Defensive Backfield (Wyatt Wolf), and Most Outstanding Player (Carson Noe) honors.
