The City of Coleman in partnership with Cornerstone Community Action Agency, proudly invites residents, neighbors, and visitors to celebrate a remarkable milestone: Coleman’s 150th Anniversary — a full-day community celebration honoring the town’s past, present, and future.

The sesquicentennial celebration will take place Saturday, April 18th, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the new District 1876 Park, located at 300 W. Liveoak, Coleman, Texas.

For 150 years, Coleman has grown from the land and the people who worked it—built by grit, sustained by community, and defined by a quiet pride that endures. This anniversary is both a reflection on where the town has been and a recognition that its story continues to be written.

“Celebrating 150 years is not only about honoring where we’ve been—it’s about recognizing the promise of where we’re going,” said Tommy Sloan, Mayor of Coleman. “Coleman’s story continues because of the people who invest their time, energy, and heart into this community every day.”

That legacy is reflected in the rhythms of daily life—from early mornings in the field to weekends spent hunting and fishing, sharing meals downtown, and supporting the local businesses that give the community its character. These are the moments that continue to shape how Coleman is known and experienced.

The Coleman 150th Anniversary Celebration will feature an exciting lineup of live music, headlined by country music favorites GRAMMY-award-winning trio Lady A, along with Aaron Watson, and William Beckmann. These celebrated performers bring a powerful soundtrack to a day that reflects Coleman’s enduring sense of place and western spirit.

Hosted by Cornerstone Community Action Agency, the celebration will offer a wide range of activities for all ages, making it a true family- and community-focused event. Attendees can enjoy interactive experiences, local entertainment, and a variety of food and beverage options that
showcase the hospitality and character of the region.

This celebration is about more than marking time—it is about honoring roots, recognizing the present, and coming together as a community to celebrate the future of Coleman—a future built on the same values of grit, pride, and connection that have carried this town forward for 150 years and continue to guide it today.
