Rudy Sanchez, a cherished member of the Coleman community, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 4, 1951, in Coleman, Texas, Rudy lived a life rich in love and dedication to those he held dear.

Rudy was a man of many talents, known for his skills as a handyman and expert lawn man, always ready with a helping hand for his friends and neighbors. He grew up in Coleman, where he attended school and formed deep connections that would last a lifetime. His passion for music shone brightly through his expert guitar playing, bringing joy to family gatherings as he sang along to his beloved “oldies.” Rudy played in a band named “Unsatisfied Five,” which included Rudy on base, Willie Sanchez as singer, Frank Rosales on base, Mike Pittman on rhythm guitar, and Gilbert Olinger on the drums. Rudy had a unique hobby of collecting aluminum cans, often exchanging them for cash, a testament to his resourcefulness and creativity.

Family was the cornerstone of Rudy’s life. He loved his family immensely and took great joy in spending time with each and every one of them. He is survived by three sisters: Aurelia Rosales and husband Robert of Coleman, Linda Nunez and husband Ray of Coleman, and Dolores Mendoza of Brownwood. Additionally, Rudy leaves behind eleven nieces, fourteen nephews, multiple great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom he adored and cherished.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Dionicio Hernandez Sanchez and Dolores Torres Sanchez, as well as his siblings: Maria Jesus, Victor Sanchez, Alfonzo Sanchez, Mary DeLeon, Rosa Amelia Sanchez, and John Sanchez, and one brother-in-law, Sam Mendoza.

His legacy of kindness, talent, and familial love will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Monday, November 10, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, in Coleman. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of Rudy be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, Coleman, Texas 76834.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Sanchez family by signing the guestbook on Rudy’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sanchez family.
