
The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of January 1:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water stained; 58 degrees; 0.23 feet above pool. Black bass to 4.20 pounds are slow on Hag’s Tsunami half ounce jigs in Juice Box and crankbaits in 2-6 feet. Bass are settling into a normal winter pattern. Crappie are slow on jigs and minnows in brush piles 12-15 feet. White bass are fair to 2 pounds on crankbaits and jigs off lighted docks and humps. Catfish are slow on cut bait and livers.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water slight stain; 63 degrees; 12.34 feet below pool. The fish are biting good with mostly catches of bass. The lake has been really calm with the cooler weather. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 0.21 feet below pool. Lots of freshwater in the lake slowing the bite until the water settles. Largemouth bass are dispersed throughout the lake relating primarily near stumps and boat houses. Crappie are slow with jigs and minnows.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 55 degrees; 22.89 feet below pool. The water temperature is consistent and the clarity is clearing on the upper end. Largemouth bass are fair to 7 pounds on the main lake with crankbaits, shaky heads and swimbaits. There was a a fish over 15 pounds reported. Crappie are fair on main lake deep trees 25-40 feet of water. Crappie seem to be suspended 15-20 feet in the brush tops. Catfish are slow. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.
LAKE PROCTOR
FAIR. Water stained; 60 degrees; 0.15 feet above pool. Catfish are good on cut bait. Hybrid bass are good on swimbaits.
