Kayli DeVusser and Cooper McMillian of Brown County spent the last 5 days in Fort Worth competing at the National Sporting Clays South Central Regionals. Kayli and Cooper were competing amongst 817 shooters. 35 US States and 3 Countries were represented in Fort Worth.

Cooper, 13 year old 7th grader at Early ISD, also shoots for Brown County 4H. Cooper competed in 2 events, which made 300 targets. He ended his Regionals debut with 2nd Place E Class in the Main Event (200 Sporting Clays) and tied for 3rd in E Class 5-Stand (100 5-Stand Sporting Targets). After a predetermined Tie-Breaker sequence, Cooper was awarded 4th Place E Class 5-Stand.

Kayli DeVusser, 15 year old Early ISD 10th grader, also shoots for Brown County 4H and Early FFA. Kayli competed in 4 events, which made 600 targets. She ended Regionals with 1st Place B Class Prelim (100 Super Sporting Targets), 2nd Place B Class 5-Stand (100 5-Stand Sporting Targets), 2nd Place B Class FITASC (200 Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse (FITASC, “International Shooting Federation of Hunting Sport Weapons” targets). She did not place in the Main Event at this shoot. 

The two will be shooting in a few local events at the Brownwood Claybird Club and practicing in preparation for the National Championship in October.
