Ruth Dudley, 86, of Brownwood, passed away on, December 1, 2023, in Brownwood, Texas

Funeral services for Ruth Dudley will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2023, at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Ruth was born on April 10,1937, in Ryderwood, Washington to Robert and Emma Baldwin. She married the love of her life, Vollie Leon Dudley on February 21, 1953.

Ruth loved to garden and plant all kinds of flowers. Her favorite flowers were lilies and iris. She traveled with her husband across the United States through their military life and selling mounted horns. Over the last 9 years she has helped take care of, laugh, and play with her great-great grandchildren. Ruth loved to go fishing but would never bait her own hook or take the fish off the hook.

She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Shana and husband Lawson Germany, Robbie and wife Amber Dudley, and James V. Dudley, all of Brownwood; Brother-in-law, Jack Allen, and wife Betty of Brownwood; 14 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Samuel and Emma Baldwin, her husband of over 60 years, Vollie Leon Dudley, son, James Wayne Dudley; Brothers, Donald Robert and Samuel Alford Baldwin, and sisters, Evelyn Zema and Marilyn Cubbage.
