
ABILENE – The Brownwood Lady Lions placed third in their division as a team at the Abilene Invitational Saturday morning, while the Lions came in 11th.
The Lady Lions generated 84 points which left them behind only Roby (51) and Jim Ned (67). The Lions finished with 263 points which trailed Abilene High (38), Midland Legacy (65), Odessa Permian (74), Jim Ned (114), Odessa High (137), Hawley (180), Abilene Cooper (228), Abilene Wylie (233), San Angelo Lake View (235), and Christoval (260).
Leading the charge for the girls was Sidney Windham, who came in second overall with a time of 12:53.96, trailed by Braycee Lee in eighth place with a 13:15.96. Also competing were Talia Craff (23rd, 14:07.21), Emma Stegemoller (24th, 14:08.2), Kylea Karnes (30th, 14:21.73), Haylee Adkins (35th, 14:38.46), Alma Bernal (38th, 14:48.45), Lyndi Biasiolli (50th, 15:17.69), Montanna Ramsey (54th, 15:26.2), Madison Weckwerth (63rd, 15:38.94), Kate Tindol (66th, 15:47.19), Kylie Arocha (73rd, 16:13.44), Autumn Reeves (94th, 16:57.7), Izzie Mendez (95th, 16:59,18), and Maddie Hampton (112th, 19:10.91).
For the boys, the top finisher was Bennett Windham in 25th place with a time of 18:37.06 followed by Noah Lambert (48th, 20:02.3), Aiden Pena (52nd, 20:16.31), Mark Martinez (93rd, 21:39.29), Valente Cardenas (104th, 22:05.82), Braylon Harvey (118th, 22:39.55), Kayden Hernandez (130th, 23:15.03), and Ty Tindol (134th, 23:20.78).
Brownwood is scheduled to compete at the Lipan Invitational Wednesday.
