Fishing Reports 5/24/23

The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of May 24:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 78-82 degrees; 5.91 feet below pool. Black bass to 7.57 pounds are good on jigs, crankbaits and shaky heads in 6-15 feet of water. Crappie are good in brush piles on jigs in 8-14 feet of water, and on minnows around the docks. White bass are good to one pound in the lights on crankbaits, jigs and minnows. Catfish are good to 15 pounds on cut gizzard shad near the flats using jugs. Anticipate heavy traffic on the lake this weekend with the Memorial Day holiday. LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water normal stain; 80 degrees; 8.93 feet below pool. Crappie, bass and catfish are biting great. Bass are good to 12 pounds on wacky rigs. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals. Anticipate heavy traffic on the lake this weekend with the Memorial Day holiday. LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Slightly stained; 74-80 degrees; 5.88 feet below pool. Black bass to 7.87 pounds are good on jigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits in 2-15 feet of water. Crappie are slow in brush piles on jigs in 8-14 feet of water, and on minnows around the docks. White bass are slow to 1.00 pound in the lights using crankbaits, jigs and minnows. Catfish are good to 15 pounds on cut gizzard shad off docks. Anticipate heavy traffic on the lake this weekend with the Memorial Day holiday. LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water stained; 78 degrees; 24.90 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are good using soft plastics, and topwater baits early in the morning. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie good using minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on live bait or cut bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina. Anticipate heavy traffic on the lake this weekend with the Memorial Day holiday. LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 72 degrees; 9.21 feet below pool. Sand bass and hybrids are good trolling crankbaits across points. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
