Fay was born March 30, 1943, to Anderson Sumler and Alice Plunk in Orlando, Florida. She married William “Bill” James Sr. on August 31, 1965, and raised 5 children together. Fay was a resident of Brownwood for the past 40 years.
Fay loved animals, dancing, music, and all children. Fay was a loving mother and grandmother. She had 5 children of her own but was considered a second mom by many. She was often seen walking at Coggin Park with her grandchildren throughout the years and most recently pushing her dog, Sissy, in a stroller. She loved her family more than anything. One of Fay’s most endearing qualities was her long beautiful brown hair and her love for children.
