A memorial service for Bess Wilcox, 89, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12 at First Baptist Church in Goldthwaite. Interment will follow at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery. Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She passed away July 29, 2022 in Goldthwaite.
She was born Feb. 17, 1933 at Camp Wood to William Whatley Longmire and Berna Rhodes Longmire. She married Joseph Wayne Wilcox on Feb. 2, 1952 in San Saba.
Survivors include children Jane Hale, Marie Croft and William Wilcox, all of Goldthwaite; grandchildren, Rebekah Georges & Chris, Katherine Hale, Tamara MacLean Hale & Tim, John Hale & Cindy, and Caleb Croft & Mary Margaret; great-grandchildren, Lydia Georges, Naomi Georges, Madeline Croft, and Caroline Croft; sisters, Peggy Brown of Lexington, and Billie Massingill of Fort Worth; sisters-in-law, Patsy Wilcox Goldthwaite, and Patsy Hanson of Goldthwaite.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Whatley Longmire & Berna Rhodes Longmire; her stepmother, Cleo Longmire; her husband, Wayne Wilcox; her daughter, Kay Wilcox; and her son-in-law, Donnie Croft.
